Tips On getting Effective Antique Car Insurance

by James Redder

An antique car can be a beautiful thing to share, especially if you take them to car shows; because of their increased value, they require insurance called “specialist insurance”. With many companies now able to provide this specialist service antique car insurance is not that difficult to find. Because there are so many specialist insurance providers the classic car customer is in a good position; it also means they will probably not have to pay too much for the insurance.

Not to be outdone, everyday commercial auto insurers have created antique car policies to meet the needs of antique owners; these plans reflect the specialized nature of this type of auto cover and are often called ‘collectors auto insurance’. To ensure that you are obtaining the coverage you need a representative will discuss different policy options and take all of your information. Your level of insurance protection you will decide upon will be based on the deductible they set and your budget.

These large commercial insurers are often able to provide peace-of-mind because they should be more reliable than smaller companies; usually considered trustworthy, they will probably have a large satisfied customer base which means your antique car should be safe with them. The other advantage of this type of insurer is their ability to arrange the protection on any other regular vehicle you own. Most of the time if you arrange antique car insurance with a larger company like this it will cost more but this is offset by the fact that you will feel safer knowing they will still be around should you need them.

There are also many independent auto insurers available to purchase car cover for an older car; they may provide plans with a lower premium but are unlikely to insure any other type of vehicle. Some of these independent insurance companies will only insure a particular type of classic car, so if the car you are attempting to insure is a rare one, it may be difficult to find a provider that will insure it. To be on the safe side it is best to check out any insurance companies, especially the smaller ones so you can be happy in the knowledge that your premium money and antique car are not at risk.

You don’t want to be in the situation where you require their help and find that all your premiums have been wasted because they cannot or will not honor your claim. Searching and finding the right antique car insurance company is not as simple as locating a regular auto insurance provider; if you want to protect your investment however, it is a necessary process. It is not an option not to protect even lowly classic cars because they are worth many thousands of dollars.

Questions and Answers About Mutual Funds

by M. L. Williams

There are many frequent questions that are common about mutual funds. This is probably because mutual funds are so popular these days that many people are already investing in funds or are at least thinking about it. Below are some questions and answers:

How Long Have Mutual Funds Been Around?

The very first mutual fund was formed in the Netherlands in the early 1800s. Back then, a mutual fund was known as an investment trust. The first mutual fund formed in the U.S. was the New York Stock Trust in 1889. Because at that time Boston was considered by many to be the financial center of our nation until the turn of the century, a majority of funds started there: Fidelity, Pioneer, and Putnum Fund, to name a few. In 1928 the Wellington Fund was established and was made up of both stocks and bonds.

How Do IRAs Relate to Mutual Funds?

In 1975, a provision was added to the Internal Revenue Code that allowed individuals already in a corporate pension fund to contribute up to $2,000 per year to a Individual Retirement Account. This was by far and away the largest contributing factor contributing to the growth of mutual funds over the last 33 years.

What Does No Load Mutual Fund Mean?

A “load” is a sales fee charged when you buy or sell a mutual fund - the fee is charged by the mutual fund company. A no load fund is one that does not carry such a sales fee.

What Exactly is a Mutual Fund?

A mutual fund is simply a financial intermediary that allows a group of investors to pool their money together with a predetermined investment objective. The mutual fund will have a fund manager who is responsible for investing the pooled money into specific securities. When you invest in a mutual fund, you are buying shares of the mutual fund and thus you become a shareholder of the fund.

Top Mutual Fund Questions Of 2008 - What Is An Index Fund?

Most investors are probably best off in the long run buying an Index Fund. This type of fund tracks one of the stock market indexes, whether it is the Standard & Poor’s 500 Stock Index, the entire stock market index, or some other performance measure of a like group of stocks.

Top Mutual Fund Questions Of 2008 - What Is Net Asset Value?

Net Asset Value (NAV) is the value of a share in a mutual fund and is calculated by dividing the total value of the fund, less the fund’s liabilities, by the number of shares currently issued and outstanding. For most of the funds, the NAV is determined daily, after the close of trading on some specified financial exchange, but some funds update their NAV multiple times during the trading day.

What Is A Public Offering Price?

A Public Offering Price (POP) is nothing more than the net asset value plus a sales commission. Open-end funds sell shares at the POP and redeem shares at the NAV, and so process orders only after the NAV is determined. Closed-end funds may trade at a higher or lower price than their NAV; this is known as a premium or discount, respectively. If a fund is divided into multiple classes of shares, each class will typically have its own NAV, reflecting differences in fees and expenses paid by different classes.

What Does a White Rose Mean

by Elizabeth Crosthon

Roses are simple, elegant, lovely and enchanting. Each color has its own significance and sends a different message. Roses come in a wide range of colors to suit every atmosphere and occasion. To give a rose is one of the best ways for people to communicate their deepest thoughts and emotions.

White is a color symbolic of many positive things, such as marriage, purity, virtue, and innocence. White is linked to emotions of harmony and serenity. Because of all these positive associations, the white rose has always been a favorite flower and is used a lot in wedding ceremonies. The breathtaking purity and simplistic beauty of a white rose can’t be beat. They can mean a number of different messages, all of which convey deep feelings

Because white is the color of purity and innocence, these roses are presented with a clear conscience and without any ill will. Unlike red roses, which denote passion, white roses are symbols of spirituality and the eternal love that lives within the soul. This flower is often referred to as the “flower of light.” White roses represent devotion, modesty, and companionship in love.

Bouquets consisting mostly of white roses are often carried by the bride in many weddings today, often symbolizing the virginity or innocence of the bride. This tradition and significance of white roses is said to have begun in 1840 during the wedding of Queen Victoria.

Also, these flowers can symbolize the traditional Victorian attributes of women: modesty and purity. A white rose bud, though, can symbolize those virtues in a unique way. It can stand for a girl who isn’t old enough to experience romantic love. This kind of girl isn’t a teenager yet, and is viewed as innocent and untainted. Like the white rose bud, she is sweet, graceful, and pure.

There are roses, like the white, blue, and yellow rose that can symbolize secrecy. It is helpful for one to know what each rose color means before buying a person roses. For example, a white rose would symbolize that a woman is as pretty and as charming as a white rose.

These roses symbolize many virtuous qualities and traits we all highly treasure and wish we possess ourselves: loyalty, unity, honor, honesty, holiness, and truth. Roses are also the color of spirituality, making them peerless wedding adornments and flower of choice. Weddings represent love, loyalty, unity, new beginnings and spirituality, all great, awesome, qualities shared by our roses.
