Pamper Your Pooch With A Kennel Shade Cover

by Shea Gyngell

In summertime, the living is easy. At least, it is for those of us relaxing in air-conditioned comfort. For all of those dogs suffering in kennels without adequate shade, however, life in the summertime is anything but easy.

As a pet owner, you are morally and legally obligate to provide the very best care for your dog. This high quality of life includes time spent inside, and outside, the home. If you have a dog that spends time in an outdoor kennel, you must provide adequate shade from the hot summer sun with a kennel cover.

Fortunately, finding and installing a dog kennel shade cover is a simple process. It doesn’t need to be expensive, either. Even the most basic dog kennel shade cover will provide the degree of protection your pet needs at a price you can afford.

If you have more than one kennel on your property, each one must have a shade cover. The shade protects your pets and helps keep them cool in the hotter months, and provides much needed shelter when the weather turns bad. Severe weather or extended periods of rain and snow can be very harmful to animals. Finding the right dog kennel shade cover is essential to ensuring your pet remains healthy, whatever the weather.

Don’t Cut Corners

Wondering why you should buy a shade cover, when you can just throw a tarp over the dog kennel? It’s just not going to provide the protection your pet needs. A plain tarp might be able to keep the sun out, but the material will not be able to withstand everything nature has to offer. A regular tarp can tear and break down over time, leaving your pet exposed to snow and driving rain. Further, tarps do nothing to deflect the sunlight, and can even increase the temperature of the kennel area.

Don’t settle for a plain tarp, with a proper dog kennel shade cover only costs a few dollars more. A proper shade cover will attach to the dog kennel at a slanted angle, so you can be sure than any rain, snow and melting ice will fall to the ground and no pool on top. Pooling water will cause the cover to collapse, and can harm your pet.

Keep it Tight

Once you’ve installed the kennel shade cover, double-check that it’s properly installed and securely tightened before putting your pet in the kennel. If the cover blows off during high winds, your dog will be exposed to the elements and prone to injury from heavy rain, sleet or snow.

Size Matters

You can find dog kennel shade covers in a variety of sizes, and most can be added to any existing kennels already set up in your yard. Take accurate measurements of your kennel and purchase a cover that fits properly. Don’t go to the time and trouble of installing a cover that’s too large or too small. If you haven’t built a kennel yet, look for a complete setup that includes the cover in the kennel package. Otherwise, you’ll pay extra for the cover later on.

There are days when it rains cats and dogs, and your pet needs a place to stay warm and comfortable. It’s even more important to keep your pet safe. It only takes a little time and money to install a dog kennel shade cover, but it’s certainly worth it. There’s nothing too good for your best friend.

Creating Unique Gifts Using Cross Stitch Wedding Patterns

by Julia Wigham

People often look for unique gifts to give to a new bride and groom and cross stitch wedding patterns are a way to create a great gift and provide a couple a family heirloom that can be passed down for generations and serve as a great reminder of a special day. Marriage patterns can also be used to make anniversary presents.

What better gift to give than a personalised sampler. There are many cross stitch wedding patterns available that use the sampler theme. Most include a full alphabet allowing you to personalise your work with the happy couple’s names and the date of the wedding. An attractive border and a romantic quote may complete the design.

People of all religions get married but if you are not Christian it might take a little more searching to find suitable cross stitch patterns to include in your sampler. Different cultures have different traditions, which may be worth researching, if the couple tying the knot are of a different denomination to you. For example two glasses of wine are used during the Jewish wedding ceremony and these could be depicted in the stitched piece.

Dimensions offers over 20 different cross stitch wedding patterns, most sold as kits complete with the mat, instructions, and thread. Many are samplers, and the instructions include complete alphabets, while some are complex, photo-realistic pictures. Other companies that produce marriage themed kits or patterns are Bucilla and Janlynn. Some of Bucilla’s patterns and kits are cross branded with Mary Engelbreit.

As a keen cross stitcher you are likely to have your own library of needlework books. It is worth looking through these to see if they contain any wedding patterns to cross stitch before buying something new. When you purchased the book a particular pattern may have caught your eye for a different occasion and you may not have noticed the wedding charts.

Before you started your stitching you should have decided how you wanted to present the finished piece. Ideas include a ring pillow, a decorated album cover, a handkerchief for the bride or a framed picture.

However you use your cross stitch wedding patterns you can be sure that the gift will take pride of place during the celebrations and be treasured, like ours, for many years to come.

Secured Debt Consolidation Explained

by William Blake

When you’re faced with a large amount of debt, whether on credit cards, department store financing or any other kind of consumer credit, one of the solutions available is to consolidate it into a single loan. Most of the time, these consolidation loans need to be secured by some kind of collateral, such as a car or your home.

You can find consolidation loans in a number of places. There are lenders in most large cities - as well as on the internet - that specialize in debt consolidation loans.

At the early stage when you’re researching options, the internet can provide a lot of value. There are plenty of websites out there where you’ll get detailed information about debt consolidation and they make is easy to compare services when choosing an agency.

When you consolidate multiple debts into a single loan, you’ll only have to keep up with one payment every month instead of several. Not to mention the fact that the interest rate is almost always lower so you’ll actually save money over time.

When you’re looking for a consolidation loan, your credit score will have a bearing on how easy it is to find. If you have a poor credit score, you will likely have to secure your loan with appropriate collateral and you may have to pay a higher interest rate than someone with a better credit rating.

Collateral is usually some type of personal property that has a significant value, equal to or greater than the amount of the loan. Obviously, the value of your collateral will affect the size of consolidation loan you will qualify for.

Once your loan is in place, you use that money to pay off all your current debts which leaves you with just the single payment every month.

The critical thing to remember at this point is that you must not run your credit card balances back up or you’ll be in an even worse situation than you were before.

Some Great Tips For Potty Training A Puppy

by Puppy Tips

It’s so exciting to finally get a puppy especially if it’s your first one. The fun you’ll have with it will last a lifetime. After you get it home though, things can quickly change. You realize that your new best friend is a little messy. If only you knew how to potty train a puppy it would restore the excitement you had before you brought it home with you.

If you’d like to live in a clean house then potty training your puppy is vital. Depending on the breed, this training may be easier or harder. Unfortunately, the learning curve for all breeds is not the same. If you haven’t purchased a puppy yet, you may want to keep this in mind and find out more information about the breed you are looking at purchasing.

The younger the puppy, the more you have to have patience. Obviously, new born puppies have minimal control over their bodily functions so when the time is upon them, they’ll end up going as opposed to holding it for any length of time. The main thing you should avoid with these new born pups is to not get angry because they just can’t help it at this age.

Potty training a puppy is best done right after it eats. By taking your puppy outdoors or to the area that you have set up for it, it’ll create a regular routine to follow. You should also take your puppy to this area first thing in the morning and before you go to sleep to help establish this routine.

Another great idea when potty training a puppy is to use treats or affection and excitement. After your puppy has successfully gone potty where and when you wanted them to, give them a treat or praise. Pretty soon it will understand that this was a good thing and will keep wanting a treat or wanting to please you by doing the right thing.

When you go to feed your puppy, make sure you stick with dry food. Make sure that you feed your puppy at the same time each day so it goes potty at the same time each day or evening. Changing it’s feeding times will not allow it to get into this routine that’s so vital when potty training a puppy.

Make sure your puppy has a lot of water and keep checking and filling it’s bowl regularly. Be careful though, if you allow it to drink water too late into the evening, it may end up having to go potty in the middle of the night. Taking it’s bowl away approximately 2 hours before bedtime would be advisable.

The final thing to help in potty training a puppy is to make sure it’s area is clean. If it’s area is messy it will try to avoid going there. A clean area will not give your puppy any excuse to avoid it.

Hopefully, you’ve found these tips helpful. Just remember, when potty training a puppy, patience is critical. If you can make it through these early, frustrating times there will be many great years to come.
